The Health Holy Trinity- Sleep, nutrition, and movement. Sleep is the easiest to sacrifice and overlook, but may be the most important and ultimately most beneficial to modify, and it’s absolutely free. You’ll put more effort and awareness in clearing out your “cookies”, history, and storage clogging up the memory space on your computer, than the most important computer responsible for your existence; your brain! Nutrition is everything you consume including the ego dominant negativity we take in from our environment. Reflective Empaths especially are easy victims of this unless we become mindfully aware. Movement, not necessarily “working out” is primal and key to keeping the body in holistic balance with Sleep and Nutrition.
Self-First Dedication- Not selfishness, but dedication to your true self and core values. The metaphor of being on an airplane and an emergency hits, you must put your O2 mask on 1st, always. This Self-First act can mean the difference between life or death for your loved ones as well as yourself. “Imagine you were taking care of yourself like you would take care of someone you really cared about” Check in with your body and find out what it needs! All three of the Health Holy Trinity are rooted here.
The 7 Basic Primal Movements- Push, Pull, Bend, Squat, Lunge,Twist, and Walk. “We have a brain for one reason and one reason only: To produce adaptable and complex movement”-Neuroscientist Daniel Wolpert. Instill the importance of simple constant movement throughout the day. This motivates the body to really appreciate sleep properly. Anytime we sit still for long periods, our primal mind thinks, if there is no movement, there is no need to learn. Constant motion primes the brain to learn. Add restful sleep and proper nutrition as vibrant fuel, you have a literal recipe for longevity with energy and vitality.
Mindful awareness of the Inner Voice- We are very much aware of the Inner Voice that can be so negative and aggressive. Or Over-thinking that involves two destructive thought patterns: ruminating and incessant worrying. But what about the less vocal Yin Inner Voice? Positive and passive, but powerful. It doesn’t demand attention like the loud Yang Inner Voice; but is a gentle giant just waiting to be called up from the bench. If you say to yourself “I hate working out. I can’t live without my junk foods, etc”, it roots itself deep into your mind. If you're getting bad sleep on top of that, then your brain isn’t getting the opportunity to literally flush the negativity out. My MAPs (Mantra’s, Affirmation’s, and Prayer’s) keep me grounded and positively aware of the moment.
Preparation is key- You must put conscientious thought and dedication to yourself. If you're not in the physical, mental, or spiritual shape you want, winging it is probably why you are where you are. You must identify that which can sidetrack or roadblock you and put a plan in place now to address and attack it. You know all the ways you use justification and excuses for the bad habits that got you into a bad state. I am able to do a preemptive strike on hunger with meal prepping, intermittent fasting, meditations and mantras, and more. My Movement Training is as much of my routine as eating, sleeping, etc. All of this is a Virtuous, not Vicious Cycle…
